OptumHealth’s cancer programs address many aspects of cancer care and treatment, delivering better outcomes at reduced costs.

OptumHealth offers two programs, the Cancer Resource Services (CRS) program and the Cancer Support Program (CSP), that allows us to partner with patients to help them make the best decisions regarding their cancer care and treatment. Approximately one-third of all new cancers are considered uncommon or complex, and can result in tens of thousands of dollars in treatment costs. We deliver value by controlling these costs through:

• Negotiating an average of 20-40 percent financial savings for inpatient, outpatient and physician services
• Lowering case costs through shorter lengths of stay and a reduction in unnecessary and inappropriate treatment

OptumHealth’s cancer programs provide access to top-performing cancer centers across the country. The Cancer Centers of Excellence (COE) network is currently comprised of 29 centers, each meeting our strict evaluation criteria. Potential benefits include:
