Real Cost Savings and Improved Care
The Psychopharmaceutical Management program is based on the principle that by prescribing the right drug, at the right dose, for the right patient, at the right time, we can improve clinical outcomes and reduce costs.
We analyze your behavioral pharmacy data by comparing prescribing practices and utilization patterns against evidence-based practices. This pinpoints opportunities for intervention around areas such as medication non-adherence, contraindicated prescriptions, supra- and sub-therapeutic dosing and other problem prescribing patterns.
When outliers are identified, we deploy interventions directed at both the prescribing physician and the member. The goals of these interventions are to educate and influence behavior change. Physicians receive alerts that include patient profiles with specific areas of concern and clinical best-practice guidelines for each case. Physicians also have 24-hour access to peer consultations with our expert medical team. All member interventions are coordinated with the physician communications. Interventions include outbound care support calls and educational tools to help members remain compliant with prescription usage and have well-informed conversations about their treatment plan with their physicians.
