Healthy Weight

OptumHealth’s Healthy Weight program is a nonsurgical weight-management solution that focuses on changing an individual’s behavior and lifestyle choices to produce long-lasting results and improve their quality of life.

The Healthy Weight program provides personalized education, a social support network, and usable tools and resources to assist individuals in integrating realistic healthy solutions into their everyday life. The blend of both lifestyle and clinically-based interventions with behavioral support helps ensure the full spectrum of weight management needs is met for adults 18 years of age and older. Whether the goal is to achieve, maintain, or manage a weight condition, the Healthy Weight program promotes a culture of health for all employees.

Statistics show that more than 64 percent of adult Americans are categorized as being overweight or obese.1

By the year 2015, 75 percent of adults and nearly 24 percent of U.S. children and adolescents will be overweight or obese unless this trend is mitigated.2

Each year, weight/obesity causes at least 300,000 excess deaths in the U.S. and approximately 9 percent of the annual U.S. medical costs ($123B).3
