OptumHealth Receives URAC Accreditation for Programs That Help People Deal with Complex Medical Conditions

Distinction Highlights OptumHealth’s Commitment to Quality

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn., (March 20, 2009) — OptumHealth Inc.today announced that Utilization Management services delivered out of its Lisle, Ill. site has been awarded final accreditation from URAC, an independent, nonprofit health care accrediting organization dedicated to promoting health care quality through accreditation, certification and commendation. The programs included in the distinction are women’s health services, Neonatal Resource Services, Cancer Support Program, Kidney Resource Services, Transplant Solutions and Bariatric Resource Services.

Through OptumHealth Complex Conditions Programs, individuals are provided access to personal care consultants, a national Centers of Excellence network and programs that support them during what can be a very stressful time — whether the member is facing a neonatal intensive care situation, cancer, kidney failure, obesity, or is in need of a transplant. The URAC Health Utilization Management Accreditation provides assurance to patients, providers, purchasers, regulators and employers that the practices of the organization performing these services are fair and equitable for all parties.
