Dawn Owens has served as chief executive officer of OptumHealth since September 2007. Under her leadership, OptumHealth has evolved into the country’s leading provider of products and solutions designed to help individuals navigate the health care system, finance their current and future health needs and achieve their health and well-being goals.

Owens joined UnitedHealth Group in 1997 and most recently served as chief marketing officer of Ingenix, a wholly owned subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group focused on transforming health care through information and technology. Before joining Ingenix, Owens was president of Uniprise Strategic Solutions, the market leader in providing customized health, well-being, productivity and administrative solutions to large employers. Owens began her health care career at Aetna Health Plans.

Owens holds a bachelor’s degree in international business and German from Grove City College in Pennsylvania and studied at Marburg Universitaet in Germany. She attended the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Owens is on the board of Hope for New York, a non-profit focused on poverty issues.
